"Lost in Love", "All Out of Love", "Every Woman in the World"," The one That You Love"

"Here I Am", "Sweet Dreams", "Even the Nights Are Better"등 수많은 히트곡을 발표한 

Air Supply는 학창시절 좋아했던 그룹중 하나 였습니다.

그들의 라이센스 앨범도 거의 다 구입했었죠. 80년대초 그들의 인기는 정말 대단했었습니다. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

호주의 Soft-Rock 그룹 Air Supply는 80년대 초 라디오에서 큰 인기를 얻었고, 7개의 탑 5 싱글을

발표했다. Air Supply는 보컬리스트 Russell Hitchcock과 Graham Russell의 듀오로 구성됐다.

다른 멤버들은 그룹의 사운드에 별다른 영향을 끼치지 못했고, 단지 백킹 뮤지션으로 참여했다. Hitchcock과 Russell은 1976년 시드니에서 공연된 Jesus Christ Superstar에서 만났다.

그 둘은 키보디스트 Frank Esler-Smith, 기타리스트 David Moyse, 베이시스트 David Green,

드러머 Ralph Cooper와 함께 Air Supply를 탄생시켰다.

몇 년간 그룹은 호주에서 어떤 주목도 받지 못했고, 싱글 "Love and Other Bruises"만이 유일한

히트 싱글이었다. 70년대 후반 Rod Stewart가 North American 투어에서 그의 오프닝으로 그들을

초대하면서, 그들은 최초로 국제적인 주의를 끌게 된다. Air Supply는 1980년 Arista와 계약하고,

그 해 말 그들의 데뷔 앨범을 발표했다. 그들의 데뷔 앨범 Lost in Love는 미국에서 200만장 이상이

팔리며 메이저 성공을 거두었고, 싱글 "Lost in Love", "All Out of Love", "Every Woman in the World"등이 히트를 기록했다.

다음 해 그들은 두번째 앨범 The one That You Love를 발표했다.

타이틀 트랙은 그들의 넘버 원 히트가 되었고, "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)", "Sweet Dreams"등이 탑 10히트를 기록했다.

1982년 그들의 세번째 앨범 Now and Forever에서는 "Even the Nights Are Better",

"Young Love", "Two Less Lonely People in the World"등이 히트를 기록했다.

Air Supply는 1983년 Greatest Hits 컬렉션을 발표했고, 그 앨범에는 새 싱글 "Making Love Out of Nothing at All"이 수록됐다. 그 싱글은 2위에 2주간 올랐고, 앨범은 7위에 올랐으며,

결과적으로 4백만장 이상이 팔렸다. 2년 뒤, 그들은 4번째 앨범 Air Supply를 발매했다.

싱글 "Just as I Am"이 19위에 올랐지만, 그 앨범은 플래티넘에 오르지 못했다.

1986년 앨범 Hearts in Motion은 84위에 오르며 더 낮은 성공을 기록했다.

앨범을 위한 공연 후 Air Supply는 해체했다.

Hitchcock과 Russell은 1991년 다시 뭉쳐, Earth Is...를 발표했지만, 차트에 오르지는 못했다.

그들은 1993년에 Vanishing Race, 1995년에 News from Nowhere를 발표했다
