I Will Follow Him’

이 곡은
1963년 3월 리틀 페기 마치(Little Peggy March)가 처음 발표했다.

작사, 곡은 1960년대 프렌치 팝 연주곡을 전세계적으로 보급했던

프랑크 푸르셀(Franck Pourcel)과 폴 모리아(Paul Mauriat)의 솜씨.
유럽에서 먼저 발매한 뒤 '노만 김벨'이 영어 가사로 개사해 미국 팝 시장에서도 환대를 받아낸다.

'프랑크 푸르셀' 악단 연주곡은 1961년
앨범 ‘Amour, Danse, Et Violons. No.17’을 통해 공개된다.

공동 작곡자인 '폴 모리아' 악단은 1976년 당시 유행하던

디스코 리듬으로 편곡 시킨 연주곡을 발매해 장수 인기를 누리는데 일조한다.

영어 버전으로 취입한 '리틀 페기 마치' 버전은

1963년 4월 27일 빌보드 1위에 오르는 성원을 받는다.

당시 15세에 불과했던 '리틀 페기'는 팝 역사상

최연소 여가수로 빌보드 1위에 등극한 기록 보유자가 된다.

<시스터 액트>(1992) 사운드트랙에 삽입되어 인기를 얻은 덕분에 수녀 성가대에 의해

제 264대 교황인 '요한 바오로 2세' (Joannes Paulus II, 재위 1978-2005) 앞에서도 합창곡으로 불리어졌다.
